Dune: Part Two filmed in Abu Dhabi and the Liwa Desert
Supporting the next generation of creators and storytellers, and giving back to the community
WBD’s Dune: Part Two was filmed largely in Abu Dhabi, where a network of 18 miles of road led the crew to different locations where they had tents, catering, construction cranes, telehandlers and more. The crew spent 27 days of filming in the Liwa Desert. The production created approximately 700 to 800 jobs, including local crew, extras, and vendors. Legendary Films also hired five interns from the UAE and held seminars for aspiring filmmakers and technicians, offering valuable industry insights. The project benefited from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission's 30% cashback rebate on production expenses.
